Hello

I was born and raised on an avocado ranch in Carpinteria, California. The ranch has been my family’s home for over 100 years. I feel such a sense of place there that I still have “Carp,” as we affectionately call it, on my guitar labels.

About Me

I am a retired Christian Minister. I am privileged to be married to Julie, and to be Dad and Grandad to our family.

I have been building guitars for 43 years. I am not prolific but I am consistent! I am accomplished in building both classical and steel-string guitars. I also build dulcimers and ‘ukuleles.

My classical guitars are based on the 1937 Hauser that Segovia owned, or on a proprietary bracing system I have developed that I call my Estrella model.

My steel strings are mostly based on classic Martin models with my own modifications. All wood is top-grade and well dried. I am fortunate to have acquired, over the years, a lovely inventory of a variety of woods.

I am always up for a conversation about guitars and would be happy to discuss a commission with you. Here's where to get in touch with me.

Thanks for stopping by, and may God bless you richly!

Just For Fun...

My friend, Bill Givens wrote this song called the "Dave Bianchin Guitars Jingle" and I thought it would be fun to share it with you.

All credit goes to him and the wonderful musicians I'm honored to build instruments for!
